In June 2025, Solon Security proudly celebrates 30 years as the UK’s leading supplier of crime prevention and community safety products. From our humble beginnings in 1995 to becoming a trusted partner to hundreds of organisations across various sectors, our journey has been built on a clear mission, to provide innovative products that make a real difference in keeping people and places safe.
Over the past three decades, we’ve evolved alongside the security needs of the UK. From early collaborations with the Home Office, such as working on the ‘Locks for Pensioners’ initiative to tackle distraction burglary to today’s cutting-edge solutions addressing violence against women, drink spiking, and Safer Streets initiatives, Solon Security has always put customer needs and public safety first.
We’ve grown, adapted, and innovated but one thing that has never changed is our commitment to exceptional service.

As we celebrate this milestone, our founder and Chairman shares a personal reflection on Solon’s journey so far:
“Solon has always looked forward, so in this sense, looking back over the last thirty years is proving more difficult than you may think.
Holistic and partnership were the buzz words of the 1990s, and we set out to build a company that would take a holistic approach to crime prevention by working in partnership with the emerging agencies of that time.
I am proud to think that we have, through hard work and commitment, forged successful collaborations with all the community safety partners over the intervening time.
Whilst some interventions are very small, we have delivered up to 2,000,000 a year, having a significant impact on the lives of many innocent victims. We are both proud and humbled to have been a part of the crime prevention and community safety sector over this time, and I would like to thank all our staff and customers for enabling us to fulfil our ambitions for Solon.” John Fearnall – Founder
